Have Empty? Half Full?

You could say that I'm a little bit behind with this. Or you could say, since it was supposed to be only a one year project that that I squeezed out four extra months.

I'm in-between in my thoughts. Disappointed in a way that Life has steered me away from my Creative Process, but grateful & happy for those things that have been taking up my time.

I'll get back to it.  I'm priming my pump, filling my lantern.  The glass is still out on the table ... half full.  Always half FULL.

Start Where You Are

Sometimes it doesn't only seem overwhelming to start again, but it's hard to even remember the exact steps of doing it.  Sometimes, when life has taken a whole different direction you look back longingly at the time when everything was fitting in place. There's only one option for getting back on track ... START.

Start Again

I seem to have lost a handle on a lot of things in my life and am finding it difficult to catch up.  But I'm thinking that the only way to do it, is to start again.  Today is as good a day as any.

Today

That's how fast tomorrow becomes yesterday.  So I guess the point is - why worry so much. It's all history before we know it.

All At Once

It seems as it is that a lot of times things do happen all at once. Like when you've got nothing special planned for weeks on end, then suddenly you've got six things to do on one weekend. So what about that, Albert?!

Not Yet

Well ... actually, this is the first day of spring and the flowers are most definitely saying 'Not yet!'. And
in regard to winter being over, we are also hearing "not yet".  Life is filled with "Not Yets".

Time Unfolds

The word of the week is TIME.  I'm in a crunch this week, trying to squeeze more minutes out of the day.  Even 'unfolding' is too fast for me - I need it to go in reverse for a wee while

Life to Everything

I sometimes wonder why I am so drawn to water, being a farm girl raised in heart of the country. As a child I gravitated to the creek, as a teenager to the lake, and now it is the sea that calls me. There seems to be an inate pull to water for most of us - a connection to life.

Born Again

It looks like I was 'peeping Tomming' these folks, but I don't take pictures of windows of house where people live. I'm drawn to the ones whose families have left them.  The curtains here speak of better days and perhaps the chance of a new morning.

To Live is Rare

An Oscar Wilde quote in honour of St. Patrick's Day. Bless his Irish heart, he had a lot of wisdom to share.  I guess things weren't much different back in his day.

Day by Dragging Day

This seems like a kind of dark and heavy thing to say ... the 'day by dragging day' part.  That's why I picked the gray photo. The jist and sentiment behind it is relevant, even though he didn't come up with a very upbeat way to share it.

Own Sun

I like thinking about the fact that I can steer my own day. Even a gloomy day I can illuminate from within. And if I'm going to design my own day, every single one is going to have a glorious sunset.

Sacred and Fragrant

Spring is a week today, but we are still in the throes of winter. Life is indeed sacred, but I am getting hungry for blossoms and fragrance. The lovely thing about photographs, it brings it back and keeps us going until it's reality again.

Live All Your Days

There is a difference in living and LIVING.  LIVE until you die.  Good advice all around.

Like An Eagle

This is the same big old eagle as in the four previous photos - I've sure had fun playing with him. The background are all created from other photos that I have taken. Digital media ... such huge fun.

Just Soar

Who wants to creep along the ground, really? All negative connotations associated with that - snakes, rats, bugs ... creepy.  But SOAR ... now there is a word that speaks ofs freedom and grace and adventure.

Just Watch

Tonight was the inaugural meeting of WINGS. It was proof positive that women coming together in a positve, supportive, enthusiastic atmosphere, do indeed SOAR.  We can, and we do SOAR ... just watch!!

Spread Your WIngs

I've always been drawn to the gracefulness of  birds in flight. It has come in handy with building my WINGS & SOAR theme. This one is a Newfoundland bald eagle who lives very close to this harbour.

Your Spirit Soar

When I'm taking a photograph of a building, I consider it a major bonus if I can capture a bird in just the right spot. It takes patience and good luck as it's hard to talk them into a 'do over' or have them shift just a little bit to the left. Got this guy in Ireland in the spring, in the nick of time.

Higher We Soar

Not everyone wants to fly; some are quite content to stay safely on the ground. That's fine too, but they can still celebrate those who want to soar. Some of us crave the freedom and adventure.

SOAR

In honour and celebration of the birth of W.I.N.G.S., this week will be dedicated to Soaring. WINGS stands for 'Women in Networking Groups Soar' - the brainchild of my eldest child. The inaugural meeting takes place Thursday with a full house.

RESET

New computer. That's well and good and happy, but it's taking me awhile to get all the programs established again.  Will come back and fill in last week when I can find out what word would be appropriate. Patience perhaps.

An Unexpected Pause

Unfortunatey ... HUGELY unfortunately ... I have had a catastrophic crash.   Fatal.  The computer ... not me.  So, actually it could be much more unfortunate. In the scheme of things it's just a major inconvenience.

However ... that means all my pictures are frozen in a useless paperweight. Although I shouldn't talk about my trusty computer like that - it has served me well.

I do have them backed up with an online service. Now all I have to do is buy a new computer and figure out how to suck them back again.

I'm missing my Daily Muse.

#56 Family Skeleton

I say ...'George Bernard Shaw ... right on!' ...why not?!  The past is past, nothing can change it - it's all part of the story now.  The more complex and colourful the story - the more interesting and memorable.

#55 Link To Our Past

The faces in this picture, in fact, are a link to my past. Searching my family tree last year and being taken back eleven generations from my grandchildren, was remarkable.  A long and winding road.

#54 Family Like Friends

Why would I choose a sheep picture for this?  Well ... just got to thinking about a comment that one of my kids made back in the days of our brief foray into sheep farming.  "I think Noah loaded a brother & sister on the Ark." was the comment when it was evident how dense they were at times.

#53 God's Gift

No, you can't choose your family. But they say that everyone who comes into your life is there for a reason. So somebody is choosing for us.

#52 Land of Life

What a wise fellow old Albert was. It IS a beautiful land of life. And it is particularly wonderful to share the joy of it with people you love.

#51 A House Full

Today is an official holiday now ... Family Day.  A good time indeed to pause and say Thank You for this house filled with chaos and happy noise.  Family and/or Friends - a house full of people I love is a joy.

# 50 Chosen

The word of the week, in honour of Family Day tomorrow, is...................  FAMILY.  Gotta love 'em. And I do ;-)

#47 Heaven Upon Earth

Beautiful sunsets on winter evenings look like Heaven to me. Beautiful, soft, gentle - like arms gently wrapped around your soul.  Like Love.

#46 Conditional Love

This kind of goes along with that saying: 'You're only as happy as your saddest child." It is so true that if the people you love are unhappy, you carry that weight. That, I suppose, is Love.

#44 Love is Warm

The word of the week: LOVE.  It's Valentine's Day tomorrow. It was a no-brainer.

#42 Stay Away

Frost on my screen is what this is, not feathers. I coloured it up a bit. I always look to what CAN BE - and frost can be purple, and feathes can be too.

#41 Human Nature

I like this. I always figure it's good to make allowances. This excuse is as good as any.

#40 Small Things

One of these little squares of wire on its own would certainly not keep the donkeys in. But one attached to each other can do the job nicely.  Something else to keep in mind on my journey.

#39 One third

That's really good to know. I've started. I'm one third finished.

#38 Decide

So...for our project, the decision is made and the first step is taken. I need to keep my focus and keep my eye on the mission.  Time will tell.

#37 Starting

The focus on this week is new beginnings - 'starting'.  I've got something in the works that is going to need as much inspiration and motivation as I can possibly muster.  I'll be re-reading these many times over the next few months.

#36 Don't Interrupt

I really like this quote and I really like this picture.  I had fun playing with light and exposure. I like it when my work creates itself.

#35 Success

This sweet little chick used to live in our house. Samson belonged to Ashley & sat on her shoulder for hours, chirping into her ear. The fact that he eventually had to move to the barn and become a regular chicken is still a sore spot with Ash.

#34 Perfection

Well, I sure don't fear perfection. I just don't do it. I am right particular, but I'm no perfectionist.

#33 Joy In Work

This is easy enough to understand. Joy in anything makes your heart and your step lighter. It's the lack of it that can drag us down and make us seem and feel aged.

#32 Gots To Work

These two old knives live in the wall of the stage at our place in Newfoundland.  They've done countless of hours of work over the years and are sticking there, waiting for more.  Something new and fancier would likely not accomplish the job half as good.

#31 Sit

I missed what would have been such a great shot here. There was a big old black crow sitting on the back of this chair when I drove by. By the time I got turned around, he was long gone - not about to be caught lazing.

#30 Love Visable

Same flower, different bees.  I don't generally use two similar shots in a row, but these are some of my very favourite.  Besides the fact that I just plain love bees, I find the colours so appealing.
